How does DocumentBurster work?
DocumentBurster performs few steps to distribute each individual report to your customers:
- If required, merge few reports together into a single master document
- Breaks up the master report into individual reports based on tags hidden in the original document
- Distributes each individual report by either email, ftp, ftps, sftp, tftp, Windows shared drives, Unix Samba servers or WebDAV to the designated recipients
- How do I tag a report?
DocumentBurster is looking for burst tokens -e.g. {john.george@example.com}. If you want to send to john.george@example.com pages 1, 3 and 11 then these pages should contain the token {john.george@example.com}. For more details about configuring DocumentBurster, including how to upload reports by FTP, please follow the User Guide document.
- Can I use DocumentBurster in an automated batch kind of environment?
YES. DocumentBurster can be used from command line so it is possible to automate the report delivery and report bursting flow. Please read the User Guide document.
- What are the prerequisites for running DocumentBurster?
In order to run the command line interface you need java installed on your computer while for running the GUI interface you need gtk-sharp. Please read the Quick Start and User Guide documents.
- Can I use DocumentBurster with Web mail servers like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc?
YES. Please read the User Guide document.
- Can I use DocumentBurster with SSL or TLS enabled mail servers?
YES. Please read the User Guide document.
- Can I use DocumentBurster on Linux? Is DocumentBurster cross platform?
YES. DocumentBurster runs on Windows and Ubuntu Linux. Other deployments such as Mac OS X or other UNIX like platforms are easy to implement.
