Crystal Reports Distribution

Following are few case studies which describe how people are using DocumentBurster in order to implement automated Crystal Reports distribution.

Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis is using DocumentBurster in order to implement automated Crystal Reports distribution

Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis

Our division uses Crystal Reports to create PDF forms, documents, statements to other departments and various other entities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Before DocumentBurster we manually separated the PDF files to create the separate documents; now, DocumentBurster has the master reports separated and emailed to each entity by the time we come in every morning. It has saved hours of time each month and decreased mistakes. A Great program!

We receive thousands of applications from students on the web.
Many of our professors want to read the applications on paper and make notes.
Therefore, we created a Crystal Report that creates a PDF of all the applications. With DocumentBurster, we are able to break the PDF by professor without any fancy coding.

This saves us hours of time.

At the university we provide reading lists for each course of study. These reading list are provided by the course tutors and we would like to feed back to the tutors borrowing figures for the items on the reading lists. We are using Crystal Reports against an Oracle database to produce a single PDF per department. We would be using DoumentBurster to split and email the individual tutors with their own reading lists for evaluation.

This should save the library staff considerable time and effort whilst proving valuable feedback to tutors.

We are a K-12 school with over 2000 students. We have the need to mail home Student Information Forms for updating of medical and other data. These multi-page forms are produced from Crystal Reports resulting in one multipage PDF.

DocumentBurster will allow us to break up the PDF produced from the Crystal Report into an individual PDF for each student that can be either printed or emailed.

Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary is using DocumentBurster in order to implement automated Crystal Reports distribution

Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary

Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary is a multi-denominational evangelical seminary with four campuses on the East Coast of the United States. The seminary offers a variety of master’s and doctoral degrees.

The seminary has a special program that works to teach students about stewardship through seminars and fund-raising for the seminary. As part of this program, students need to be able to see a weekly report of how their fund-raising efforts are progressing.

In developing a system to distribute a weekly fund-raising report to over 100 students based off of one Crystal Reports, a challenge arose. How could easily splitting the one report into over 100 reports based on student ID be done?

That said, a trial copy of DocumentBurster was downloaded and tested, and met this need wonderfully. Using DocumentBurster, this weekly report can be split by student ID, and then put in a document storage location where students can view their individual report via the web.

We are extracting assessment information from our management information system, SIMS, and dumping to a spreadsheet. We then use Crystal Reports to group the information by form tutor and produce separate documents that can either be printed or Emailed to the tutors.

As a secondary school, we have to produce various kinds of reports throughout the years for students such as their academic reports and learning profile.

We used Crystal Reports to generate the PDF files but we encounter a problem. We want to generate individual files for each students because of two reports.

(1) For archiving into our Document Management System. It would be impossible to archive a single large file consisting of reports of the same year cohort to the DMS.

(2) For sending the PDFs file to individual students through their campus-wide email accounts.

As a result, we have been looking for a easy to use, off-the-shelve PDF bursting solution. We finally found DocumentBurster.

Stillwater Amateur Radio Association – SARA

We are a not for profit local organization offering free educational training to the public on Electronic and Amateur Radio related topics. In addition to classes that we regularly hold, we also conduct field excursions several times yearly to demonstrate and practice proficiency in operation of emergency operations and temporary location setups.

We have currently identified several locations where DocumentBurster would benefit us. During the field excursions held up to 3 times yearly we collect and respond to 100-300 independent reports of our operation on a local to world wide basis. Using Crystal Reports software we are able to generate a PDF report containing individual replies with unique information and we hope to use your software to publish those reports out to the individuals sending us reports. In addition we believe the software would be of benefit distributing personalized pre-event planning materials and announcements to participants, and interested parties in both those events, and in our regular classes.

We would appreciate being able to obtain a copy of DocumentBurster to use for the above stated purposes.

Thank you.
